Milano Film Network renews its commitment to the production sector of the new independent Italian cinema, to offer support to the last and fundamental moment in the production of a film. Milano Film Network confirms its commitment in 2020 to support independent Italian cinema with the 6th edition of L’ATELIER MFN, the first support fund to the post production of Italian feature films.

Goals

Through L’Atelier MFN, the Milano Film Network intends to support the finalization of Italian feature film projects and facilitate their access to the market and the circuit of international festivals, with the following objectives:

& gt; supporting authors and productions that present films in post production of proven artistic quality and cultural and social value;

& gt; increase the economic and entrepreneurial development of the cinematographic and audiovisual sector in the Milanese and Lombardy area, which has always been a laboratory of experimentation and professionalization. < / span>

To achieve and expand these objectives, the MFN has established both the L’Atelier fund with prizes in kind and in cash aimed at completing the film works and the professional days of the Milano Industry Days – MID by MFN .

From 2017, Milano Film Network has activated a partnership with When East Meets West and Trieste Film Festival , and in particular a synergy with This is IT with the aim of offering a double opportunity to Italian producers, increasing the possibility of identifying distribution partners both nationally and internationally. Furthermore, one of the finalist projects of L’Atelier MFN will be selected by WEMW and TSFF and presented at This is IT in January 2021.

Application notice

The call is open exclusively to films in post-production phase presented by Italian production companies and directors who own sole proprietorships. In the case of international co-productions, the Italian participation can be either majority or minority – in the second case, however the director of the film must have Italian nationality. The directors with a VAT number they must be in possession of the certificate of attribution bearing the words “type of subject: sole proprietorship”.

Presentation of the finalists at the Milano Industry Days 2020 and award ceremony (17-18 December 2020)

From all the working copies of the films received, the Milano Film Network will select a maximum of 7 finalists, who will participate in the 6th edition of Milan Industry Days – MID by MFN , made with the contribution of MIBAC – Directorate General Cinema and Municipality of Milan.

The finalist films will be presented on December 17, 2020 to an audience of directors and Italian and international festival programmers, distributors, buyers, and commissioning editors, with screening of the working copies followed by q & amp; a. On the day of 18 December will be organized one to one meeting followed by the c awards ceremony .

In compliance with regulations issued to contain the epidemiological emergency from COVID – 19, the professional days of the Milano Industry Days will take place online .

The premieres of L’ATELIER 2020:

. the Milano Film Network Award of 6,000 euros, offered by Milano Film Network

. 1 color grading, offered by Start in collaboration with MFN: the prize consists of 5 rounds with a colorist including dates to be agreed

. 1 montage tutoring offered by Carlotta Cristiani and Valentina Andreoli in collaboration with MFN;

. 1 DCP master with subtitled “on screen”, offered by MFN in collaboration with Start

. FICTS prize of 1,000 euros for a work that promotes the culture of sports disciplines through the power of image

Also, one of the finalist projects of L’Atelier MFN will be selected by WEMW and TSFF and presented at This is IT on 25 January 2021.

The prizes will be awarded at the sole discretion of a jury of industry professionals appointed by the Milano Film Network. Times and methods of processing will be agreed in advance between the beneficiaries of the awards and their suppliers.
