On the occasion of the 40th edition of Filmmaker festival, the proposal of In Progress LAB, born in 2019 as a spin off of the In Progress MFN development workshop , is renewed: a series of meetings organized by MFN – Milano Film Network in collaboration with Filmmaker festival and Civic School of Cinema “Luchino Visconti” of Milan .
Addressed to an audience of film students, young authors, producers and audiovisual professionals, the In Progress LAB appointments offer an insight into creative problems, organization and distribution that a young author has to face at the beginning of his professional career.

THE DESIGN OF THE FILM
Development is increasingly the crucial moment in film production: in recent years this phase has undergone a rapid evolution during which the traditional writing activity has been flanked by new tools capable of working effectively on the design of the visual aspect of the film, from the definition of the reference imagery to the development of tools such as director’s treatment, teaser, trailer and promo.
A lesson from the director and producer of The Book of Vision – presented at the 77th Venice International Film Festival, as the opening film of the International Critics’ Week – on the organizational aspects of a film production .

IN THE LABORATORY OF MASSIMO D’ANOLFI AND MARTINA PARENTI
Massimo D’Anolfi and Martina Parenti, directors of War and Peace – opening film of the 2020 edition of Filmmaker festival and presented in competition in the Horizons section of the 77th Exhibition Venice International Film Festival – will be at the center of three conversations about their work: from the theme of putting the real into shape, to the peculiar production organization up to the relationship with Massimo Mariani in the composition of the film soundtrack.
