I <\/span> <\/span> <\/strong> De Serio twins are in Milan on Sunday <\/strong> 20 September <\/b> to meet the audience of the show at 19.30 < \/ span>: <\/strong> the meeting will be moderated by Luca Mosso, co-director of the Milano Industry Days, where the film won the l’Atelier MFN <\/a>, <\/b> support fund for Italian feature films in post-production. <\/span><\/p>\n

Stonebreaker <\/i> stars an extraordinary and unpublished Salvatore Esposito <\/b> who plays Giuseppe, stonebreaker who is unemployed after a serious accident at work. He has been alone with his son Ant\u00f2, since Angela, a mother and adored wife, died of an illness while working in the fields. Without a home, he is forced to ask for work and asylum in a tent city together with other seasonal laborers.<\/p>\n

\u00ab In Stone Breaker <\/i> – explain the directors – art and personal biography are inseparably intertwined. The story at the center of the film is inspired by a news story a few summers ago, the death at work of the Apulian laborer Paola Clemente, and by the absurd coincidence with the death of our paternal grandmother, who died working in the same fields in 1958. And , like Giuseppe’s father in the film, our paternal grandfather too, before leaving for Turin in the 1960s, was a “stone breaker”. The film is first and foremost an attempt to regain possession of a soul, that of our never known grandmother, through the story and the body of another woman. But it is also a film of fatherly love in which the themes of death, violence, fear, love, revenge emerge pure. <\/i> “. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
